Baseline was created to explore and strengthen the practice of Configuration Management within Australia’s Defence and manufacturing sectors.

Meet Alex

I’m a Configuration Manager working within Australia’s Defence industry, where I help engineering teams establish and maintain governance frameworks for complex systems.

Over my career, I’ve worked across shipbuilding, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing, developing strategies and tools that bring order to complexity - from baseline control to change governance and audit readiness.

My focus is on turning CM from a compliance function into a capability enabler. I believe that by improving how we manage data, trace decisions, and integrate tools, we can reduce rework, strengthen assurance, and build better sovereign capability.

Baseline represents that vision - a space to share ideas, lessons learned, and practical approaches for professionals in engineering and governance roles.
